Tuning fork vibration density measurement is a method of measuring the density of liquids and gases using a vibrating tuning fork. It works on the principle that the resonant frequency of a tuning fork is affected by the density of the surrounding medium. The design and working principle of a tuning fork vibration density sensor typically consists of the following components:

Design:

  • A vibrating tuning fork: The tuning fork is typically made of a metal such as stainless steel and is designed to vibrate at a specific resonant frequency.
  • A piezoelectric transducer: This component is used to convert the mechanical vibrations of the tuning fork into electrical signals.
  • An electronic circuit: This circuit is used to amplify and process the electrical signals generated by the piezoelectric transducer.
  • A temperature sensor: This sensor is used to measure the temperature of the medium being measured and to compensate for the effect of temperature on the resonant frequency of the tuning fork.

Working Principle:

  • The tuning fork is excited to vibrate at its resonant frequency by the piezoelectric transducer.
  • The tuning fork is immersed in the medium whose density is to be measured. The density of the medium affects the resonant frequency of the tuning fork.
  • The electronic circuit measures the frequency of vibration of the tuning fork and compares it to the known resonant frequency of the tuning fork in air.
  • The temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the medium being measured and to compensate for the effect of temperature on the resonant frequency of the tuning fork.
  • The difference between the measured frequency and the known resonant frequency in air is used to calculate the density of the medium.

HYKO tuning fork vibration density measurement is a method of measuring the density of liquids and gases by measuring the resonant frequency of a vibrating tuning fork, which is affected by the density of the surrounding medium. The design and working principle of a tuning fork vibration density sensor typically consists of a vibrating tuning fork, a piezoelectric transducer, an electronic circuit and a temperature sensor. This method is highly accurate and suitable for use in a wide range of industrial applications.
